Understanding Subscription Cancellation in Lifeway
Canceling your subscription doesn’t mean you lose access immediately. Here’s a full breakdown of how cancellation works:
1. What Happens When You Cancel Your Subscription?
When you cancel a subscription, what you are doing is disabling future autorenewals, not immediately terminating the current subscription. You will continue to have access to all features until the end of your prepaid period. This applies both to annual and monthly subscriptions.
If you cancel, access continues until your paid time runs out. For instance, if you paid for a month starting on May 12, you’d retain access until June 12 after cancellation.
Similarly, canceling an annual subscription that’s set to expire on August 16, 2025, ensures you will have full access until August 15, 2025.- Switching to a new subscription or bundled plan does not immediately revoke access. You can continue using the service until the current paid period ends.
2. Effect on Autorenewal
Cancellation prevents your subscription from autorenewing at the end of its term. This means no additional charges will be made, even if you don’t unsubscribe from the service.
For example, if you reactivate a subscription and decide to cancel later, you should ensure the cancellation is complete to avoid unnecessary charges.- If you cancel and later reactivate your subscription, you may be charged for the new billing cycle. Ensure you cancel reactivated subscriptions promptly to avoid additional charges.
3. Timing Your Cancellation
It is best to cancel your subscription before the renewal date to prevent it from renewing automatically. Even after canceling, you will enjoy access until the end of the paid subscription period. To cancel your subscription, follow these steps:
Navigate to your organization settings by selecting your organization in the top-left corner of the Lifeway interface.
Go to the "Purchases and Subscriptions" section.
Select the option to cancel your subscription. Once canceled, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. Afterward, it will not renew automatically.
For ongoing access to resources, such as a curriculum or other services, it’s important to note that you’ll lose access after the completion of the current subscription period unless a new plan is initiated. .- Canceling and starting a new subscription does not reset your progress in the curriculum. You can continue from where you left off.
4. Confirmation of Access Timeline
Customers commonly worry about losing access immediately upon canceling, but that is not the case with Lifeway. Canceling your subscription today ensures you access services until your subscription end date. In summary, whether for monthly, annual, or reactivated subscriptions, you are guaranteed continued access until the last paid day of your existing subscription term. Rest assured, cancellations only stop the renewal process and not your current access. Additionally, Lifeway does not currently offer the option to pause subscriptions, but you can cancel and re-subscribe as needed to manage your usage. To avoid unwanted charges, always cancel prior to the renewal date. For further assistance or to handle specific subscription issues, contact Lifeway Support directly. However, for digital subscriptions like the Journey devotional, access ends immediately after the subscription period ends or is canceled. Unlike other subscriptions, you do not retain perpetual access to past months.
5. Can I Pause My Lifeway Subscription?
Currently, Lifeway does not offer the option to pause subscriptions. However, you can cancel your subscription and re-subscribe later when needed. This approach ensures that you only pay for the periods you actively use the service.
6. Re-Subscribing After Cancellation
When you're ready to resume your subscription, you can re-subscribe using the same login credentials. Your previous settings and preferences will remain intact, allowing you to pick up where you left off.
7. Managing Monthly Subscriptions
For users who only need access during specific months, Lifeway offers a flexible monthly subscription option. You can subscribe for a month and cancel before it renews if you don't need the service continuously. However, you cannot pre-select or skip ahead to specific months. Instead, you will need to wait until the desired month becomes available and start a new subscription at that time.- If you cancel your subscription while switching to a bundle, you will retain access for the period you’ve already paid for. After the current term ends, you can start the new bundled subscription.
